Early literacy program gets donationMelissa Bonifas-Ness and Ashley Cherette of the Bonifas-Ness Meemic Agency present a $500 check to Tara Weaver. Weaver manages the Reach out and Read Program as part of her position with the Delta Schoolcraft Great Start Collaborative. Reach out and Read was developed in 2018 to provide physicians with books to distribute to families at well-child checkups. This allows physicians the opportunity to encourage families to read and discuss the importance of early literacy. The money donated by the Bonifas-Ness Agency is specifically being used to buy books for Dr. Kasetty’s office at OSF in Escanaba.
