Welcome to Health Occupations! Your son/daughter may be attending a clinical rotation during this upcoming year. One of the sites he/she may be visiting is OSF/St. Francis Hospital, Marquette General Clinics, Northwood’s Assistive Living, Pinecrest, Christian Park Health Care Center, Bellin Clinic, or Bishop Noa Home. Students will need appropriate uniforms including a watch and shoes. We will be choosing group uniforms during the second semester. The employees as well as any students at these work sites are required to be free from infectious disease, and they are currently required to demonstrate proof of a Negative TB (tuberculin) Skin Test, within the past year.
The procedure must be a two‑stage testing, with the two tests performed ten days apart. This can be performed at your own local physician's office or at the Delta County Health Department. Students will be required to show proof of this testing before entering a clinical rotation.
All students are also required to receive or show proof of having had the Hepatitis B Vaccine, as well as being current with all other required immunizations. It is the right of the health care facility to require specific immunizations, such as Influenza (Flu shot) and Pertussis updates. Immunizations can be received from the local physician’s office or from the Delta County Health Department. You can receive more information regarding any vaccines or to schedule an appointment by calling your local physician or the Delta County Health Department at 786‑4111.
I am available everyday from 8:00 am until 3:20 pm at 786‑9300 ext 314. I look forward to an enjoyable year with your son/daughter in Health Occupations!
